Kim Barker

Kim Barker, age 73 and a resident of Davenport, FL, passed away on September 1, 2024 at his home after a lengthy illness. He was born on May 22, 1951 in Altus, OK to the late Harry and Iona Gray Barker. Kim was an ordained deacon at Farrington Road Baptist Church in Chapel Hill, N.C. He was also an avid golfer before his illness and loved Nascar races and going to Disney World with family.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years Sue Pittman Barker of Davenport, FL; one daughter Amy (Randy) Simmons of Poplarville, MS; two sons Corey Barker of Odessa, FL and Scott (Vicki) Blackwell of Denham Springs, LA; three granddaughters Madison (Josh) Pizzettier of Lumberton, MS, Olivia Blackwell and Skylar Blackwell of Denham Springs, LA; one great great grandson Jordan Pizzettier of Lumberton, MS; a brother Mark (Janet) Barker; three sisters Brenda Frederick, Ginger (Mike) Watson, and Nancey (Stephen) Beazley; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Kim is preceded in death by his parents Harry and Iona Barker; his father-in-law and mother-in-law N.W. and Mildred Pittman; his brothers-in law Gary Pittman and Lamar Frederick.
The service to celebrate Kim’s life will be held Monday, September 9, 2024, at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Poole Ritchie Funeral Home. The family will hold a visitation beginning at 12:00 pm until time for the service. Rev. Scott Breland will officiate and interment will follow at the Pittman Family Cemetery located at 52552 Highway 60, Bogalusa, LA 70427.
