Katherine D. Peters
December 4, 1948 - August 13, 2024
Katherine D. Peters, age 75, passed away at Our Lady of the Angels in Bogalusa, LA. Mrs. Peters was a life-long resident of Washington Parish and a graduate of Pine High School. She received her nursing degree from Sullivan Vo-Tech and worked at Resthaven Living Center until her retirement in 2010 after the birth of her granddaughter. She treasured her family above all else, being a loving mother and grandmother at heart.
Mrs. Peters is survived by a son: William “Shane” Amacker; one daughter: Summer Amacker Mixon; three grandchildren: Mason Shane Amacker, Isabella Douglas, and McKenzie Mixon; a great-grandchild: Ashton Anthony Amacker; two sisters: Judy Sherman and Karen (Durwin) Talley; one sister-in-law: Caletta Turner; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, other family, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Victor Anthony Peters; two sons: James Corey Amacker and Ashley “AJ” Amacker; her parents: James and Nezzie Turner; two brothers: Timothy Turner and Jimmy Turner; a sister-in-law: Gloria Turner; and one brother-in-law: “Butch” Sherman.
Brown-McGehee Funeral Home was entrusted with final arrangements. A private memorial will be held at a later date.
