Anonymous Tips Resulting in Arrests in St. Tammany

1. An anonymous tip to St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office Proactive Enforcement Unit has resulted in the arrest of Christopher Tanner, age 43 and of the Covington-area, on drug charges. The tip was that illegal narcotics were being distributed in the 20000 block of House Road near Covington. On Wednesday (August 21, 2024), detectives stopped a vehicle near the intersection of Highway 1081 and House Road and made contact Tanner. While searching Tanner and his vehicle, detectives located approximately 100 fentanyl tablets, one hydrocodone tablet, one Diazepam tablet, 11 suspected Adderall pills, approximately three grams of methamphetamine, approximately 279 grams of marijuana, a digital scale and packaging material. While executing a search warrant at Tanner’s residence located near the 20000 block of House Road, detectives located and seized approximately three ounces of methamphetamine, approximately nine grams of marijuana  and $2,400. Tanner was arrested and booked into the St. Tammany Parish Correctional Center on numerous narcotics related charges.

“Our residents continue to send the message they will not tolerate drugs and guns being sold in their neighborhoods. Thank you to the concerned citizen who provided this tip and to all of our citizens who continue to call us when they see or hear something suspicious,” Sheriff Randy Smith said. “Keeping drugs out our neighborhoods is a partnership between law enforcement and our residents. We are blessed to live and serve in an area that respects, appreciates and works with law enforcement.”

2. Another anonymous tip to the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics led detectives to respond on Thursday (August 15, 2024) to the 25000 block of West Spruce Street in Lacombe. The complaint was of illicit drug activity at the residence and referenced a subject identified as Samuel “Fat Head” Ducre. Detectives had prior knowledge of Ducre and knew him to be a registered sex offender with a listed address in Mandeville. As part of their investigation, detectives searched the residence. They located and seized 2.4 grams of methamphetamine, 9 blue M/30 fentanyl pills, and several THC related products. Also found during the search were several pieces of evidence indicating Ducre was residing at the West Spruce residence and not his Mandeville home. Ducre was arrested and booked into the St. Tammany Parish Correctional Center on the appropriate charges.

“Once again, an alert resident said ‘NOT IN MY PARISH,’ and contacted us when they noticed something suspicious and suspected illegal drug activity,” Sheriff Randy Smith said. “Keeping drugs out our neighborhoods is a partnership between law enforcement and our residents. We are blessed to live and serve in an area that respects, appreciates and works with law enforcement.”

Sheriff Smith is asking anyone with information about narcotics, or other crimes, to submit a tip utilizing the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office website (www.STPSO.com), or by calling the narcotics tip line (1-888-GO-2-JAIL).
