What Candidates Qualified for November 5, 2024 Election?

The qualifying period has ended for candidates in Louisiana's November 5, 2024 election. To search for candidates in a parish  and a little more about them, go to https://voterportal.sos.la.gov/candidateinquiry and make your choice of parish.

In Washington Parish, some races of note and those qualifying include:

U. S. Representative 5th Congressional District: Julia Letlow, M.V. "Vinny" Mendoza, and Michael Vallien Jr. 

Member of School Board District 2: "Chad" Dorsett is the only candidate who qualified.

Mayor Town of Franklinton: "Greg" Route  and Darwin Sharp.

Mayor Village of Angie: Darryl Knight  and Denise Robinson.

Mayor Village of Varnado: Paris C. Sumrall is the only candidate who qualified.

Chief of Police Village of Angie: Gilbert Hartzog Jr. is the only candidate who qualified.

Chief of Police Village of Varnado: Louis Adams is the only candidate who qualified.

Aldermen Town of Franklinton (5 to be elected: "Patrice" Crain, Frankie Crosby Sr., Seth Descant, Lee R. Dillon, Richard L. Magee, Jeamie Mccullen, "Steve" McCune, and Randy Reed.

Aldermen Village of Angie (3 to be elected): and only 3 qualified - John F. Dawsey, Laurie Ball Pittman, and Terrance "Fit" Robinson.

Aldermen Village of Varnado (3 to be elected): James L. "Jimmy" Ezell, "Chris" Jones, Kimberly Suzi Kennedy, Dustin J. Sumrall, and Brian "Walk-Walk" Walker.

Councilman District B, City of Bogalusa: Melvin "Chester" Abram, Ellen Carter, Wilton R. Dunaway, and Marilyn D. Lott .
