Texas Man on Probation Arrested on Numerous Charges in Tangipahoa

The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office (TPSO) has arrested a man on probation from Texas for multiple drug and weapons charges. 

Shawn Gray, age 25 and of Beaumont, TX, was booked into the Tangipahoa Parish Jail on Wednesday (July 3, 2024) on one count each of Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Possession of a Weapon While Possessing CDS, Operating a  Clandestine Laboratory, Possession with the Intent to Distribute Marijuana, and Probation Violation.

Earlier Wednesday, the Louisiana Department of Probation and Parole requested TPSO assistance with a compliance check on Gray at his reported address in the Village of Tangipahoa. Upon arrival, TPSO Narcotics detectives discovered more than 1.5 lbs of Marijuana, multiple THC cartridges, cocaine, THC wax, clandestine lab equipment, approximately $10,000 in counterfeit U.S. currency, and two firearms.

Gray, who has been living in the parish for the past three years, was on probation out of Texas for Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle and felony Evading Police.
