Jennie V. Conerly

May 10, 1934 - May 30, 2024

Jennie V. Conerly of Franklinton, LA departed this life in her home surrounded by family and loved ones in Franklinton, LA on May 30, 2024, at 7:30AM.

Jennie was born May 10, 1934, to the late Latimore and Myrtis Crain to whom 12 children were born. She attended school in Tylertown, MS until the 8th grade and then married her late husband, James Conerly. 

Jennie was a devoted member of Lear Hill Church of God in Christ until her health failed in which she was unable to attend. She loved singing and sewing and most of all she loved the Lord. No matter what she was going through she kept a beautiful smile, she was always a very sweet and loving person, who will truly be missed.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories to her one and only son, Bernell Conerly; five grandchildren, Priscilla Conerly of Franklinton, LA, L’dwyer Conerly of Mt. Hermon, LA, Jackie (Joey) Jolly of Baton Rouge, LA, Sharronda Singelton and Bernell Singleton both of McComb, MS; 16 great grands and 5 great great grands; three brothers, Latimore (Jerilyn) Crain, Jr. of Cerritto, CA, Eligah Crain of Lynwood, CA and Jewell (Bernice) of Franklinton, LA; five sisters, Emma Walker, Myrtis (Amos) Lee Warren and Essie Singleton of Franklinton, LA, Betty Jean (Hillman) Jackson, and Mildren (Author) Anderson of CA; three special nieces, Tiara Wilson and Jesscia Johnson both of Franklinton, LA and Emma Ramos of Pedro Texas and host of many more nieces, nephews, and family members.   

She was preceded in death by her parents, Latimore and Myrtis Crain; her husband, James Conerly; 2 brothers, Willie J. Crain, Sr. and Walter Crain; one sister, Shirley Johnson; one grandson, Jaston Gerard Coleman Conerly; four nephews, Cedric Crain, Orell Walker, Laverne Walker, and Wallace Walker.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2024 from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. followed by the funeral service being at 2:00PM at Lear Hill Church of God in Christ with Supt. Leslie Fields – Pastor Officiating. Interment – Lear Hill Cemetery.
