Obituary

Irvin Nelson Pigott, Jr.

July 4, 1978 - June 2, 2024

“ But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.” (1 Thessalonians 4:13-14) 

Irvin Nelson Pigott, Jr., affectionately known as “Ezale” by his sisters, departed his earthly life in Okinawa, Japan. He was born in Bogalusa, LA to Irvin Nelson Pigott, Sr. and Gwendolyn Pigott. He was raised in Ocean Springs, MS where he graduated from Ocean Spring High School in 1996. Throughout his youth, Irvin Jr. attended Macedonia MBC under the leadership of Pastor Jesse L. Trotter, Sr. He was an active member of the Youth Choir and the Sheppard Boys Choir. After graduating high school, Irvin Jr. joined the U.S. Air Force where he acquired valuable skills and was able to travel extensively. While at his final duty station, Kadena AFB, in Okinawa, Japan, he met and married Saori Pigott. They enjoyed years of friendship, as well as 12 years of marriage. He embraced Japanese culture and shared that he loved the “peacefulness” of Okinawa city/island. Irvin Jr./Ezale will be missed by all who knew and loved him dearly.

“For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first”. (1 Thessalonians 4:)

Irvin Jr. is survived by: Saori Pigott (wife), Gwendolyn Pigott (mother), Crystal Towner & Amp; Kandice Holland (sisters), Takya/Diedra/Chloe (nieces), Caden (Nephew), Emily Moses (Great Grandmother), Annie Pernell (Grandmother) and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends. 

Irvin Jr. was preceded in death by his father, Irvin Nelson Pigott, Sr.; paternal grandparents, Earnest “Boog” and Inez Pigott; maternal grandparents, Willie J. Spikes & Wiley Pernell and maternal great grandfather, A. C. Moses and a host of uncles, aunts and cousins. 

Per Irvin Jr.'s wishes, there will be no service. A private memorial will be held at a later date.
