District Attorney J. Collin Sims reports that on May 15, 2024, a St. Tammany Parish grand jury indicted 34 year-old Zachary Lepine of Tickfaw for one count of First degree rape of a child under the age 13, one count of Sexual battery of a child under the age of 13, three counts of Molestation of a child under the age 13, and one count of Aggravated burglary.
The case involves the break-in of a Covington residence during the night of January 15, 2024 and the sexual assault of a juvenile inside the residence. Detective James LaBonte with the Covington Police Department headed the investigation. Assistant District Attorney Ysonde Boland presented the case to the grand jury.
