Public Forum - "Shaping the Future of our Park"

A Public Forum - "Shaping the Future of our Park" was held Thursday (May 9, 2024) evening at the D.A. Varnado Museum in Franklinton, Louisiana. The meeting was hosted by Franklinton Alderman Seth Descant. Alderman Descant reviewed actions to date regarding the park and discussions followed  regarding issues and how to proceed.

The vision of having a park in Franklinton is one supported by Mayor Greg Route and the rest of the Board of Aldermen. There has also been strong support from the community, including those in attendance at the Public Forum on Thursday evening. However, issues regarding location, cost of the project, funding, and the process have delayed approval.
