Yvonne Bennett Rogers

August 30, 1942 - May 29, 2024

Yvonne Bennett Rogers, age 81 and a resident of the Pine Community, passed away Wednesday May 29, 2024 at Resthaven Living Center after a lengthy illness. She worked for several years in the cafeteria of Varnado School and served as assistant manager at Dollar General in Bogalusa for many years before retiring. Yvonne was a longtime faithful member of Hilltop Missionary Baptist Church who loved the Lord and her church family very much. If there were church services, events or meals you could always count on her being there. Yvonne loved gardening and planted a nice vegetable garden every year. She would can her delicious vegetables and share them with family and friends. Yvonne enjoyed completing word searches and crossword puzzles and loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Survived by: Son and Daughter in law: Scottie and Stefanie Rogers of Pine; Grandchildren and Spouses: Nikki and Brandon Crain of Pine, Dusty and Talena Rogers of Dexter; Great-grandchildren: Emma Crain, Luke Crain, Peyton Rogers, Presley Rogers; 2 Sisters and a Brother in law: Vera Easterling of Franklinton, Lanell and Charles Merritt of Pine; Brothers in law and Sisters in law: Eld. Willie Faye and Bobbie Rogers of Pine, Janice and Kevin Garner of Crain’s Creek Community; Also numerous beloved nieces, nephews and other family members

She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years Richard Vernon “R.V.” Rogers, parents Randolph Bennett and Thelma Miller Bennett, sister and brother in law Lucille and Michael Warren, brothers and sisters in law Gary and Carrie Faye Bennett, Marvin and Estelle Bennett, brothers Vernon Bennett, Ralph Bennett, Melvin Bennett, father in law and mother in law Buford and Emma Rogers and other family members.

Visitation will be at Hilltop Missionary Baptist Church Saturday June 1st from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the church at 1:00 pm Saturday with Eld. Mark Hobgood and Eld. Richard Magee officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
