This morning (May 30, 2024), the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office reports that STPSO Major Crime Unit Detectives are investigating a homicide which occurred over the weekend in the Pearl River area.
At approximately 5 p.m. Sunday, STPSO detectives were dispatched to a residence in the 67000 block of Slaughter Drive near Pearl River in response to a suspicious death after 74 year-old Douglas LaFrance was located deceased on his front porch.
Following an autopsy performed by the St. Tammany Parish Coroner’s Office, suspicions were confirmed and LaFrance’s death was ruled a homicide.
