Ronald Mark Sieger

September 26, 1955 - May 4, 2024

Ronald Mark Sieger, age 68 and a resident of Bogalusa, Louisiana, passed away on Saturday, May 4, 2024, surrounded by his family and friends.  Ron was born on September 26, 1955, in Shreveport, Louisiana.  

Ron was a 1975 graduate of Slidell High School.  After high school, he joined the U.S. Army where he served for 36 years and was deployed in support of Operation Desert Storm.   An active member of Lee’s Creek Baptist Church, he served as a Deacon and Sound Tech.  He was a member of the Bogalusa Lions Club, serving as the Treasurer for the club, and was a past member of the Bogalusa Gideons.  Ron truly had a servant’s heart and was always willing to help anyone in need.  He was often referred to as the “Community Mechanic”, “Mr. Goodwrench” or “Mr. Fix-it”.  

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Herb and Dorothy Sieger and Melvin (Curly) and Deborah Fuller.  

He is survived by the love of his life, Claudia Fuller Sieger; his children, Kristy and Hector Dowdy; Stephen and Megan Sieger and Brandon Sieger.  Three precious granddaughters, Jillian Elise Dowdy, Sophia Grace Dowdy and Sadie Elizabeth Sieger.  His siblings, Randy (Denise) Sieger, Ricky (Mary) Sieger, Jill (Chris) Haag and Sue (Jeff) Harrison and numerous nieces and nephews.  

A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, May 11, 2024, with visitation starting at 10:00 am until the service at 12:00 noon at Lee’s Creek Baptist Church, 1803 Lee’s Creek Church Road, Bogalusa, Louisiana.  Military graveside honors will be performed by the American Legion, Magic City Post #24.
