WPSO Detective Chad Cassard Recognized by the Children's Advocacy Center-Hope House

Report from the Washington Parish Sheriff's Office

Today, we had the incredible honor of witnessing something truly special. Our very own Detective Chad Cassard was chosen as a Champion for Children by the Children's Advocacy Center-Hope House, and Sheriff Randy "Country" Seal, Parish President Ryan Seal, Judge David Merlin Duke, and some of the WPSO family were there to stand beside him in support.

In 2023 alone, the CAC Hope House touched the lives of 491 children, providing them with the care and support they so desperately needed. Out of 83 nominations, Detective Cassard emerged as a shining example of dedication and compassion.

During his speech, emotions ran high as Detective Cassard spoke candidly about the challenges of his job. He bravely acknowledged that these crimes often occur in places we hold sacred, like churches and schools. Yet, standing firm, he expressed his gratitude to the people of Washington Parish for entrusting him with the responsibility of serving and protecting our community's most vulnerable.

One poignant moment captured the essence of Detective Cassard's impact: a grandfather, moved by the profound difference Chad had made in his grandchild's life, penned a heartfelt nomination letter. His words echoed the sentiments of countless others who have been touched by Detective Cassard's dedication to justice and compassion.

Today's breakfast was more than just a ceremony—it was a testament to the power of community, empathy, and resilience. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Detective Chad Cassard and every individual who plays a part in keeping our children safe. Together, we stand as a beacon of hope for a brighter, safer future.
