Mrs. Boyd was born to the late Edwin and Elouise Bringol Bordelon of Belledeau, LA. She graduated in 1959 from Fifth Ward High School and was crowned Queen of Avoyelles Parish Festival. As the recipient of this title, she was able to visit Washington, DC, and was able to bring her mother, Ms. Elouise, who accompanied her on the trip. This is a story she loved to tell. Mrs. Boyd loved sewing, gardening, reading, and cooking. She was the co-owner of “Quality Cake Shoppe” with her best friend, Audrey Chelette, and “Terry’s BBQ” with her ex-husband, Mr. Terry Brouillette, Sr.

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 30 years: Mr. Philip Boyd; one daughter: Suzanne Brouillette (Mills Onellion, III); three sons: Terry Brouillette, Jr. (Janice), Kyle Brouillette, and Scott Brouillette (Stacy); three step-daughters: Sandi Boyd Ball, Kelly Boyd Stewart (Boady), and Pattie Boyd McKenzie (Jason); nine grandchildren: Emily LaBorde, Kristin Brouillette, Tyler Brouillette, Kyle Laine Brouillette, Hunter Brouillette, Lauren Ball Fox (Zachery), Preston Ray Ball (Mickaela), Carter McKenzie, and Caty McKenzie; eight great-grandchildren: Lillie-Anne LaBorde, Kyle Laine Brouillette Jr, Reece Brouillette, Huck Brouillette, Noah Ray Ball, Lane Joseph Fox, Amelia Grace Ball, and Madalyn Rae Ball; one sister: Angie Lee Bettevy; ex-husband and father of her children: Terry Brouillette, Sr.; and a host of other family and friends.

Mrs. Boyd was preceded in death by her parents; one brother: E.L. Bordelon (Laura) and one sister, Joanne Weaver.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to St. Joseph’s Hospice and her caregivers: Mindy, Carry, and Annie for their professional help during her time of need. Also, a special thanks to: Will and Leslie Galloway, Brad Duncan, and Walter O’Berry.
