Shirley Jones Thomas

January 5, 1940 - April 25, 2024

Shirley Jones Thomas, age 84 and a resident of Thomas, passed away peacefully Thursday morning April 25, 2024 at her daughter’s home. She enjoyed sitting on her porch swing, drinking coffee and waving at her friends and truckers as they went down the highway. She liked to shop at Dirt Cheap, always finding a good deal, and she never met a stranger. Shirley also enjoyed deer hunting with her family and fishing. After her stroke, she enjoyed going to the river and camping with her family. Shirley was able to go on a Caribbean cruise recently and she greatly loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren cherishing all their time spent together.

Survived by: Daughter and Son in law: Pam and Billy Gerald of Pine; Son and Daughter in law: Roy and Joetta Thomas of Thomas; 4 Grandchildren and Spouses: Cass Gerald, Chris and Frances Thomas, Savanna Schexnider, Gage and Macey Thomas; Great-grandchildren: Hailey Thomas, Weston Thomas, Brylan Schexnider, Waylan Thomas, Dalton Thomas; Sister: Elouise Jones; Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other family members

She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years Phillip Ray Thomas, Sr., son Phillip Ray Thomas, Jr., many brothers, sisters and other family members.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday April 28th in the Thomas Cemetery with Bro. Trey Jenkins and Bro. Shadd Pittman officiating.
