Lezlie Ortman

February 10, 1955 - March 14, 2024

Lezlie Ortman died March 13, 2024 surrounded by her family at her home in Bogalusa Louisiana. She was born February 10, 1955 in Sioux Falls Dakota. The daughter of William B. and Betty Jean (Kopren) Ortman. Leslie graduated from Highland High School in Bakersfield California class of 1973. Following, she attended Bakersfield College where she found the X-ray program and specialized in ultrasound. She entered work at Kern Radiology, becoming the second registered tech in the state of California and remained head of her department until her retirement. Lezlie had several college teaching job offers because of her published ultrasound papers but chose to remain in the job she loved. Lezlie led a full life with her job, family, and friends. She loved fishing, was a huge fan of the SF Giants and 49ers. Although she had no children of her own, she loved and cared for her niece and nephews and their children only a mother could. Lezlie especially enjoyed her dogs Tommy, Mitzy, and her beloved Chico. She is preceded in death by her parents and nephew Karl Ortman. She is survived by brother, Steven and Wade (June), sister Billie Jean Tucker (Trey). Nephews William Brandon Felix, Dustin Felix, and Lang Ortman, and niece Lindsey Hathaway.

Lezlie will be buried with her family in Bakersfield California via private ceremony.
