Gladys Corkern Passman

August 28, 1928 - March 25, 2024

Gladys Corkern Passman passed away early Monday morning March 25, 2024 at Baton Rouge General Hospital-Bluebonnet. She was a native of Franklinton and longtime resident of Baton Rouge before moving back home to Washington Parish later in life. Gladys provided clerical work for McKinnis/Peterson Chevrolet and also worked many years for Capitol Mack before retiring. She was a longtime member of Brookstown Baptist Church that performed with the church choir and served in the W.M.U. organization. Gladys was an excellent cook, especially her chicken ‘n dumplins and she baked delicious sweets, chocolate cake and ice-box cookies being just a couple of the family’s favorites. She also enjoyed canning jellies and vegetables. Gladys loved spending time with her large family.

Survived by: 3 Sons and Daughters in law: Randy and Marilyn Passman of Kentwood, Mike and Vickie Passman of Baton Rouge, Keith Passman of Greenwell Springs; Grandchildren and Spouses: Heather and Todd Kinsey and Heather’s mother Janice Mathis, Rebekah Passman, Anna and Roger Craig, Bethany and David Smart, D.J. and Melanie Passman, Erin and Rev. Bryan Fields, Sarah and Brady Miller and D.J., Erin, and Sarah’s mother Jennifer Passman; Great-grandchildren and Spouses: Christopher and Elayni Kinsey, Matthew and Sarah Kinsey, Benjamin, Charlotte, and Elliott Craig, Ezekiel, Hannah Beth, Gracelyn and Levi Smart, Caleb and Beau Passman, Owen, Eden, Dawson and Hudson Fields, Teagan, Madison and Elliott Miller; Great-great-grandchildren: Taryn, Jameson and Kyla Kinsey, Hunter Kinsey; Sister in law: Lavern Corkern of Franklinton; Also numerous nieces and nephews

She was preceded in death by her husband Wilson W. Passman, father Claude Corkern, mother Tressie Morgan Bowman, brothers Dorman Corkern, Ralph Corkern.

Visitation will be at Sunlight Baptist Church (18184 Sunlight Road, Franklinton, LA) on Tuesday April 2nd from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the church at 2:00 pm Tuesday with Rev. Bryan Fields officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers: Roger Craig, David Smart, Brady Miller, D.J. Passman, Caleb Passman, Beau Passman.

Crain Funeral Home in Franklinton, Louisiana is in charge of arrangements.
