Jack Goff, Jr.

Jack R. Goff, Jr., of Bogalusa, Louisiana, passed away on Friday, March 22, 2024.

A graveside service will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at Hillview Memorial Gardens on Spring Valley Road in Bogalusa, Louisiana.

Jack was born on August 14, 1939, in Moorhead, Mississippi, the first of five sons to Jack and Mary Goff, Sr. He graduated from Gulfport High School in 1956. He always ran his own businesses. In the 1960’s, he owned several grocery stores in Franklinton, La. In the 1970’s – 1980’s, he and his wife, Neva, owned the Rapid Banquet on Columbia Street in Bogalusa which served fried chicken and hot lunches. In the 1990’s, he and Neva opened Northlake Produce on Superior Avenue in Bogalusa until they retired.

Jack is survived by his wife, Neva Morgan Goff of 52 years, three daughters, Tammy Goff Vaughn (Rocky) of Picayune, MS, Velvet Goff Johnson (Bubba) of Florence, MS, Tina Goff Van Gordon of Richland, MS, one stepson, Greg Touchstone (Janet) of Liberty, MS and stepdaughter Shirley Touchstone Scardino of Mt. Herman, La.

Jack is also survived by his four brothers, Jimmy Goff of Bogalusa, La, Robert Goff (Jane) of Madison, MS, Gary Goff (Denise) of Foley, AL and Don Goff (Paula) of Tamassee, South Carolina.

He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, Amber Johnson Stephenson, Caitlyn Schommer Fortenberry, Marlee Johnson Ingram, Jonathon Chase Vaughn, Cody Van Gordon, Hunter Van Gordon, Lila Touchstone, Grant Touchstone, Haley Touchstone Dellucci, Thomas Touchstone and Jonathan Touchstone. He has 16 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Mary Goff, Sr., stepdaughter, Sandra Touchstone, and two step grandsons, James L. Scardino, Jr. and Kelly Touchstone.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Foundations Hospice and Good Samaritan Nursing Home during this difficult time. The family appreciates all the dedication and care shown to him.
