Former Tangipahoa Parish Educator Arrested for Sex Crimes

The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office announces the arrest of 26 year-old Cameron McKnight
of Hammond in connection with several sex crimes. Sheriff Daniel Edwards says on February 27, 2024, the TPSO received a complaint of alleged indecent behavior between a former High School educator and students. 

According to the complainant, a substitute teacher and part time athletic coach, later identified as McKnight, had been speaking with students about his “body count”, referring to the number of women with whom he had prior sexual relations.

Detectives substantiated the allegations and Cameron McKnight was later arrested and charged with   Indecent behavior with juveniles and Prohibited sexual conduct between educator and student.

At the time of the complaint, McKnight was no longer employed at any school within Tangipahoa Parish.
