Anthony Ervin Harry

“For I am now ready to be offered and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth therefore is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.” 2 Timothy 4:6-8
Anthony Ervin Harry was born on March 20, 1954 in Bogalusa, LA to the late Mr. Otto Harry, Sr. and Mrs. Julie Jefferson Harry. On Tuesday, February 27, 2024, the angel of death came and sealed his lips, denoting the earthly end of a well-loved person.
Anthony graduated from Wesley Ray High School. After graduation, he moved to Chicago, IL where he was employed by the United States Postal Service (USPS). When he moved back to Louisiana, he again gained employment with USPS. Additionally, Anthony was a long-distance truck driver and worked for many companies delivering their goods to many states in our United States.
Anthony was baptized at Wesley Ray United Methodist Church. Although Anthony was not an active participant in the church, he remained a member through his transition.
Anthony was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Otto Harry, Sr. and Mrs. Julie Jefferson Harry; maternal grandparents, Mr. Thomas Harvey Jefferson, Sr., Mrs. Effie Weary Jefferson, Mrs. Zena Bickham Jefferson; paternal grandparents, Mr. John Harry and Mrs. Eliza Harry; three brothers, Milton Dwayne Harry, Sr., Thomas Harvey Harry, Sr., and Arnold Lee Harry, Sr.
He leaves to cherish memories, four sons: Commander Zachary (Marilyn) Harry, Sr. of Poulsbo, Washington, Ricky (Katrina) Peters of Dallas, TX, Carlos (Amanda) Bullock of Houston, TX, , Brandon Harry of San Antonio, TX; two daughters: Lisa (Rickey) Blackwell of Oklahoma City, OK, Antonia Smith of San Diego, CA; fourteen grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, two brothers: Willie (Elmira) Jefferson of New Orleans, LA, Otto (Anne) Harry, Jr. of Angie, LA; one sister, Dr. Zena Thompson of Waldorf, MD; two additional sisters-in-law, Willie Delores Harry of Bogalusa, LA, Margie Harry Pennington of Baton Rouge, LA; a God daughter, Jessica Bickham of Houston, TX; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, a special grand pup, Ollie, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2024 from 11:30AM - 12:30 Noon followed by funeral service at 12:30 Noon at Crain and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Terrance August, Pastor, Rev. Julius Jefferson, Eulogist.
