Covington – Last night, shortly after 9:00 p.m., Troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop L began investigating a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 12 near LA Hwy 59 in St. Tammany Parish. The crash claimed the life of an unidentified driver.
The initial investigation revealed that the driver was eastbound on Interstate 12 in a 2007 GMC Yukon. For reasons still under investigation, the GMC traveled off the roadway to the left and impacted a tree.
Despite the driver being properly restrained; they sustained fatal injuries as a result of the crash. The driver was pronounced deceased on the scene. As part of the ongoing investigation, a toxicology sample was obtained from the driver for analysis.
