James Craig Jefferson

August 13, 1957 - January 14, 2024

“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes, and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away.”

James Craig Jefferson was born August 13, 1957, to the union of the late Marshall Lloyd Jefferson Sr. and Chinesa Henry Jefferson.  He was the middle child of eight children.  He was introduced to Christ early at Wesley Ray United Methodist Church.  He was the Godson of the late James and Christine Magee.  Craig attended Sunday School every Sunday and youth meetings every month.  He loved his church.

Craig was a graduate of Varnado High School’s class of 1976.  During his time as a Varnado student, he played football.  He married Alice May on April 26, 1986, and one son was born to that union.  They moved to Virginia, where he trained to become a heavy equipment operator, which he took pride in.  Craig’s hobbies were listening to music, dancing, fishing, and gardening.

James Craig leaves to cherish his memories a son, Craig Antwon Jefferson of Angie; a daughter, Kimberly (Freddy) Anderson of Bogalusa, LA;  3 grandchildren, Caiden Collins, Malinba, and Chalmette Anderson;  his siblings, Doris (Bernard) Harry of New Orleans, LA, Carolyn (Joe L.)
