LaVerne Thomas Williams

February 3, 1937 - January 3, 2024

LaVerne Thomas Williams, age 86, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2024, surrounded by her children and family. She was a long-life resident of Louisiana and a member of Lee’s Creek Baptist Church. LaVerne loved her family dearly. She enjoyed sketching in her spare time. Some of her favorite memories were made riding the motorcycle throughout North America with her late husband.

She is survived by one son: Delos R. Williams, Jr. (Rhonda); two daughters: Deborah Williams Stafford (Randy) and Victoria St. Pierre (Ray); twelve grandchildren: Timothy Sanderson (Haley), Camron Williams, Collin Williams (Marsha), Benjamin Williams (Haley), Tia Taylor, Randall Stafford (Emily), Crystal Taylor, Jason Stafford (Stacey), Cole Taylor (Kourtney), Dave Stafford (Robin), Sara St. Pierre, and James St. Pierre (Christina); twenty-four great-grandchildren; one sister: Jaqueline Lee (John); a sister-in-law: Lillian Stafford; and numerous nieces and nephews.

LaVerne was preceded in death by her husband: Delos R. “Dickie” Williams, Sr.; her parents: Cecil and Vera Thomas; one brother: Bobby Gene Thomas; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law: James Delos and Gertrude Williams.

Pallbearers are as follows: Collin Williams, Benjamin Williams, Timothy Sanderson, Camron Williams, Cole Taylor, James St. Pierre, Rhett Williams, and Rick Lee.

Brown-McGehee Funeral Home was entrusted with final arrangements. Saturday, January 6, 2024, a visitation will be held at Lee’s Creek Baptist Church starting at 9AM until time of service at 11AM. An interment will immediately follow the service at Lee’s Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Dennis Allen and Bro. Patrick Magee will officiate service and interment.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Compassus Hospice and LaVerne’s caregivers during this difficult time. The family appreciates all the dedication and care shown to her.
