Brenda Joyce Miley

June 9, 1947 - January 17, 2024

Brenda Magee Mizell Miley, age 76 and a lifelong resident of Bogalusa, passed away peacefully at home on January 17, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones. She was one of eight siblings, born in Bogalusa, Louisiana, in 1947 to the late Earl and Selena Magee. She was a 1965 graduate of Bogalusa High School, and a cook at Longbranch Cafe before retiring after 25 years.

She is survived by her children: Sonja Mizell, Sondra (Paul) Chauvin, and Joshua (Lizzy) Miley; her grandchildren: Nikki (Justin) Gonzales, Tiffany (Chad) King, Caleb Herring, Brandon (Chelsea) Thomas, and Asher & Alexander Miley; her great-grandchildren: Matthew, Ava, Jensen, McKinlee, Maverick, Amelia, and Boone; five siblings: Larry (Patsy) Magee, Gary (Cheryl) Magee, Diane (Dan) Slocum, Kathy (Lindon) Warner, and Glenn (Brigitte) Magee; a sister-in-law: Susan Knight Magee; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Brenda was preceded in death by her mother: Selena Magee; her father: Earl Magee, one brother: Terry Magee; a sister: Charlotte Smith; her son-in-law: Keith Thomas; and her twin great-grandsons: Lawson and Major Thomas.

Brown-McGehee Funeral Home was entrusted with final arrangements. Visitation will take place Thursday, January 18, 2024, from 5PM until 8PM at Bogalusa First Church. Friday, January 19, 2024, visitation will resume at 10AM until time of service at 1PM. Interment will immediately follow at Magee Cemetery in Plainview, Louisiana. Bro. Houston will officiate all services.
