Lena Tracy Magee

October 11, 1965 - November 26, 2023

Lena Tracy Magee was born in Cleveland, Ohio to Noah and Jessie Magee on October 11, 1965. She was the youngest of seven children. At an early age she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior while attending Community Baptist Church.

Lena attended Cleveland Public School. Her parents decided to move back to Franklinton, LA in 1981. She graduated from Franklinton High School in 1984. She became a member of New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church until she moved to Baton Rouge, LA. Lena enjoyed life and made everyone around her feel loved with laughter! She didn’t hold back and said whatever was on her mind. She put family first and played a vital role in being a caretaker to both her parents. As the baby girl, she always shared a closeness with her mother as her first friend, her best friend, and her forever friend.

As a mother, Lena decided to move to Baton Rouge so that her only son, Romaldo could attend a school that would offer him better opportunities in life. The bond between them was so strong. She created a safe and loving home. They were inseparable.

Lena was hired at Louisiana School for the Deaf (LSD) in 2003. The school later merged with the Louisiana School for the Visually Impaired (LSVI) where she worked as a Food Service Specialist for 20 years. During her years at the school, she assisted in her son's education. Lena completed Food Safety classes along with other State Certifications. She was a sweet, hardworking and dependable worker. Her coworkers described her as being very outspoken and would make you laugh out loud. She enjoyed working with all her coworkers and made work fun!

The Lord called her home from labor to reward on Sunday. November 26, 2023. She has left a legacy of memories to everyone who knew and loved her. Her affectionate smile and laugh will truly be missed. Lena would say, “Hey Hun, Don’t worry about me, I’m good!"

Lena leaves to cherish her precious memories, her only son, Romaldo “Martel” Magee of Baton Rouge, LA, her mother, Jessie Lee Magee of Franklinton, LA, two sisters Margie Lee Magee and Carolyn Coletha Magee-Cunningham (Wendell) both of Cleveland, Ohio, three brothers Noah Magee Jr.(Juatina) of Fredericksburg, VA, Lawrence Nicholas Magee of Cleveland, Ohio and Joseph Kevin Magee of Franklinton, LA.
