The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office is asking the public's assistance in identifying a shoplifting suspect who also assaulted a Dollar General Store employee.
Sheriff Daniel Edwards says on Sunday (November 26, 2023), three black males entered the Dollar General Store located on Highway 40 in Loranger, where they proceeded to steal a large amount of laundry detergent, which was hidden inside garbage cans. The suspects walked past all points of sale without rendering payments for the trash cans or laundry detergent, and proceeded towards a black Honda car.
A store employee followed the suspects out of the store where they were able to obtain a cell phone picture of one subject, who then attempted to spray the employee with mace.
