Obituary

Angus Warren, Jr.

April 18, 1934 - November 18, 2023

Angus Warren, Jr. was born on April 18, 1934 to the late Angus Warren, Sr. and Angie Bell Warren of Franklinton, LA. 

He received Christ at an early age and was baptized at the New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church, which is now pastored by Rev. Johnny Causey of Franklinton, LA. After moving to New Orleans he  united with the Mount Kingdom Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Pastor Otha Simmons where his membership remained until his passing under the leadership of Pastor D. Johnson. During his displacement of Hurricane Katrina, he was under watch care with the Union Valley B.C. under Pastor E. Johnson of Terrell, TX until he was able to return to his home in New Orleans.

He begin working the fields and other jobs around the home to help support his family. He was baptized and received Christ at an early age. Later in life after knowing and understanding the word of God clearly, he was baptized again at the White Dove Fellowship by Pastor Micheal Mille’

In 1954 he united in Holy Matrimony to the late Mary E. Causey. They then moved to New Orleans, LA to begin their new life together. To this union 6 children were born, 5 sons and one daughter. Where they both reside until passing. (Mary 2009) (Angus, Jr. 2023).

Angus worked as a warehouse worker until he became a member of the Longshoreman organization as a Freight Handler. He retired at the age of 62. Angus was a hard working man who truly believed in a roof over his family's head and lots of food for his home.

He was known for his God given talent of singing the gospel and blowing his harmonica, tapping the piano, and playing his guitar. Angus and Mary sang gospel together all the time for their children in their home. 

He leaves to cherish his memory one loving sister, Meggie Stewart of Slidell, LA; one loving devoted daughter, Kathleen Warren Polk of New Orleans; four sons, Bobby (Vernita) Warren, Sr., Harvest Alabama, Cedric (Annette) Warren of New Orleans, LA, McKenzie (Gail) Warren of New Orleans, LA, and Darren Warren of New Mexico; seven grandchildren, Cedric (Anjanette) Warren, Jr., Bobby Warren, Jr., Todd (Diane) Polk, Sr., Cameron (Vanessa) Warren, Shantrice (Carlos) Arzu, Joshua Warren, Jasmine Warren; 15 grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary E. Causey Warren; one son, Tyrone Warren; his parents, Angus, Sr. and Angie B. Warren; 6 brothers, Automo, Horace, Cartan, Homer, Arthon Warren, and Bufus; 2 sisters, Kazziebell Warren Brumfield and Picola Warren Mabon; one son-in-law, Alvin Polk.

A visitation will be held on Friday, December 1, 2023 from 9:00AM - 12:00PM followed by the funeral begging at 12:00PM at Crain and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Johnny Causey, Sr. and Rev. Jerome Warren, Sr. - Eulogist. Interment will be held at Warren Cemetery. 

Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Franklinton are in charge of arrangements.
