Jimmie Nell Phelps

September 17, 1938 - November 18, 2023

Jimmie Nell Phelps, age 85, passed away on November 18, 2023, in Covington, LA. She was a long-time, 35 year, employee of Glynn’s Drive-Inn in Bogalusa, LA. Jimmie Nell loved cooking and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Another one of her favorite things to do was church. She loved church and being involved in the church activities.

She is survived by her son: Jimmy Phelps of Bogalusa, LA; two daughters: Carolyn Graves of Bogalusa, LA, and Judy (Darron) Terrell of Foxworth, MS; fifteen grandchildren: Randy Farlow, Brandon (Daphnne) Stogner, Dale Stogner, Tosha (Mark) McRaney, Chucky Stogner, Mikel Read, Santana Graves, Roxie Haik, Eric (Pam) Bowman, Jenny Bumgarner, Nolan May, John (Lisa) Crosby, Jessie (Bill) Richardson, Matt Polkey, and Kayla (Ryan) Trahan; and a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Jimmie Nell was preceded in death by her husband: Howard E. Phelps; a son: Randy E. Phelps; her father and mother; one son-in-law: Wayne Graves; two brothers: Winsol and Winnon Miller; one sister: Sybil Westmoreland; a grandson: Mitchell Polkey; and one great-great-granddaughter: Sarah Grace Stogner.

Pallbearers are as follows: Randy Farlow, Brandon Stogner, Mark McKaney, Ronnie Alpha, Charlie Michel, and Alex French. Honorary Pallbearers are Brody Stogner, Jacob Stogner, and Drake Stogner.

Services was at Dexter Pentecostal Church in Dexter, LA. Visitation was on November 21, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM and resumed on November 22, 2023 from 9:00 AM until the Funeral Service at 1:00 PM. Interment was at Ponemah Cemetery in Bogalusa, Louisiana.
