On Thursday, November 2, 2023, Bogalusa Police Officers were dispatched to a residence pertaining to
a report of a home invasion that just occurred and quickly discovered that the victim in this incident was an elderly gentleman, who was suffering from the effects of being maced. Officers learned that an individual, later identified as Caroline Jefferson, unlawfully entered the residence of the victim, maced him in the face to the point of incapacitation, and stole his wallet.
Jefferson fled from the residence, removed approximately $500 from the wallet, and discarded it along the side of the road near a wood line. After an extensive search for Jefferson, and not being located, warrants were sought for her arrest.
On Friday morning, November 3, 2023, Jefferson was located and placed under arrest for the above mentioned incident. During the arrest, Jefferson actively resisted and fought, but was ultimately taken into custody with no officers being injured.
BPD reports that some of the financial, personal, and prestigious military items contained within the wallet were located and returned to the victim.
