The Livingston Parish Sheriffs Office reported yesterday (October 25, 2023) that earlier this month 25 year-old Jordan Barnes of Franklinton was identified as a suspect by LPSO' s Burglary Detectives, a traffic stop was conducted, and a search warrant resulted in the seizure of approximately 90 lbs of marijuana and two guns. Also, the seizure of two vehicles are pending seizure.
Sheriff Jason Ard reports that based on evidence at the traffic stop scene, LPSO Narcotics Agents were called up and a search warrant was secured for Barnes’ residence in Satsuma.’
Agents seized the following during the scope of the investigation:
- 1. Approximately 90lbs of marijuana
- 2. 5.56 caliber AR-style pistol
- 3. Glock 19 9mm
- 4. 2021 Dodge Charger Hell Cat (pending seizure)
- 5. 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT (pending seizure)
Sheriff Ard says, "This was a team effort by LPSO Narcotics, Burglary, Criminal Patrol & Detectives. What we’ve all seen here lately is the mixing of these drugs with fentanyl & other chemicals - some in lethal amounts - leading to overdoses & deaths. We’ll keep fighting to keep these drugs off of our streets."
