Amy Wilson
November 22, 1966 - October 12, 2023
In Loving memory of Amy Wilson, born on November 22, 1966, in Bogalusa, Louisiana. Amy was the eldest "Baby," as she was affectionately called by her parents Myrtis and JoAnn Wilson. She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at a young age and remained a lifelong New Jerusalem Baptist Church member. There, she served as the president of the youth choir and as an usher. Amy was also passionate about serving others, and her work with the "Care and Share" committee always held a special place in her heart.
Amy graduated from Franklinton High School, where she excelled in academics, especially English. Those years brought her much joy as she was a school choir member and the Flag team member. After High School, Amy attended Sullivan Technical School in Bogalusa, LA, where she studied Business Administration. For many years, she worked as a store manager. In recent years, Amy found her calling working with older adults and people with special needs as a Direct Service Worker at Rest Care and FACC.
Amy 'Terrell", the name she gave herself, had a deep affection for her community, family, patients, and cows. She personally named each of her cows and tended to them every day. Despite being a little bit country, she always enjoyed dressing up in fashionable clothes, wearing makeup, and accessorizing with jewelry.
Amy is preceded in death by her father, Myrtis Wilson, and son Tevin Wilson. Her paternal grandparents, Theodore and Alma Wilson, and her maternal grandparents, Willie and Earlene Hart.
She is survived by her son, Shavoski "Scooter" (Kezele) Wilson, and her grandchildren Tamaya, Tamira, and Tyran Wilson. Additionally, she is survived by her bonus grandchildren Kazarion, Kazaiah, and Kazyron Warren all of Franklinton, LA, and her mother, JoAnn Wilson of Franklinton, LA. Her siblings, Lawrence (Peggy) Wilson of Waggaman, LA, Nicole (Joseph) Allen of Kenner, LA, and DaShun (Corey) Howard of Haughton, LA. She also leaves behind six nephews, Lawrence Wilson Jr., Jamar Allen, Corey Howard Jr., Chance Howard, Joshua Crocklen, Kendell Woodra, and two nieces, Venezia Barker and Dasha Allen. Furthermore, she is survived by three great-nieces, DeMayria Barker, Mia Driver, and Zendaya Wilson, and one great-nephew, Peyton Driver. Lastly, a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and co-workers will cherish her memory.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2023 from 9:00AM – 11:00AM at New Jerusalem Baptist Church followed by the funeral at 11:00AM. Interment will be held at the Green Magee Cemetery. Crain and Sons Funeral Home, Franklinton are in charge of arrangements.
