Hezekiah "HK" Torrence, Sr.

October 25, 1930 - October 15, 2023

Hezekiah “HK” Torrence, Sr. quietly departed this life on Saturday, October 15, 2023, at the Brookdale Senior Living Facility in Mandeville, LA.  

He enlisted in the United States Army as a young man and was stationed at Fort Knox, KY where he served as a Corporal for three years.  He returned to Bogalusa, LA and worked as a Boiler Operator at the Crown Zellerbach Papermill for 45 years.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mariah and father, Howard, his brothers, Roy Lee, Howard Donald and Charles Torrence, his daughter Sharon Ann Harry and granddaughter Tiffany Rene Redditt.

His life will forever be cherished in the lives of his sister, Melvina Torrence Speight, his children:  Hezekiah Torrence, Jr. of Bogalusa, LA and Veronica Torrence Thompson (Billy) of Pearland, TX; his grandchildren:  Chloe’ Harry (Bryan) of Mansfield, TX, Yoshiko LaToi Harry of Lewisville, TX, Tailer Black (Jamal) of Lindale, TX, Hezekiah Torrence, III of Baton Rouge, LA and Antoine Torrence of Virginia Beach, VA; 5 great-grandchildren; godson, Joshua Speight, and a host of dedicated nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at Crain and Sons Funeral Home from 1:00PM – 2:00PM.

Funeral service on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Crain and Sons Funeral Home Chapel. Interment - Bogalusa Cemetery. Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Bogalusa are in charge of arrangements.
