Cindy Ann Mingo Perkins Ross

August 7, 1972 - October 15, 2023

Cindy Ann Mingo Perkins Ross was born in Bogalusa, LA, to Mr. & Mrs. Archie (Mattie) McGowan. She passed away on Sunday, October 15, 2023 at University Medical Center of New Orleans, LA. 

Cindy graduated from Varnado High School, home of the mighty Wildcats in 1991.

She leaves to cherish her memories her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Archie (Mattie) McGowan; her husband of six years, Travis Ross, Sr.; three children, Varionna Mingo, De’Montrey Mingo, and Travis Ross, Jr. all of Bogalusa, LA; five grandchildren, Natalee Keating McGowan, La’Dariyah Mingo, Josiah Weems, Caleb Peters, and Calis Mingo; one step grandchild she loved as her own, De’Karter Watts; twelve siblings, Augustine (Michael) Brown of Hackley, LA, Deborah Lee of Angie, LA, Barbara (Carnell) Owens of Sandy Hook, MS, Betty Conerly, Patricia Lewis both of Bogalusa, LA, Rolanda Mingo, Tawasha (Koury) Hargrove of Angie, LA, Yspronga Mingo of Bogalusa, LA, James (Gill) Carter of Sandy Hook, MS, Pastor Archie (Clarissa) McGowan of Angie, LA, Tyrone (Tahesha) McGowan of Sandy Hook, MS, and Kory Mingo, Sr. of Angie, LA; two adopted sisters, LaDaisihas McGowan and Lakevona McGowan both of Angie, LA; a very special friend, Maria Weary; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and friends.

Cindy was preceded in death in death by her daughter, Angel Ross; her grandparents, Eddie and Lela McGowan, Johnny and Gertrude Mingo; one brother, David McGowan.

A visitation will be held on Friday, October 27, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Crain and Sons Funeral Home – Bogalusa, La. 

Funeral service will be held Saturday, October 28, 2023 at 1:00PM at Ford Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 321 Stateline Road, Sandy Hook, LA with Pastor Archie Ray McGowan- Pastor, Officiating. Interment – Moses Cemetery.
