Jared "Heath" Newcomb

February 19, 1983 - October 28, 2023

Jared “Heath” Newcomb passed away suddenly at the age of 40, at his home. Heath was born February 19, 1983, and was a lifelong resident of Angie, LA. He was a member of Monroe’s Creek Missionary Baptist Church. Heath worked as an electrician with IBEW Local 1077.

He loved fishing, hunting, and camping. He also loved bull riding and won “Rookie of the Year” for the Southern States Bull Riding Association in 2008.

Heath is survived by two daughters: Chelsi Rae Newcomb and Emmie Clair Newcomb; his parents: Huey and Phyllis Newcomb; two brothers: Blake (Drew) Newcomb and Cory Newcomb; two grandmothers: Lois Newcomb and Mattie Penton; a furry friend: Minnie; two nephews: Blake Newcomb, Jr., and Alexzander Pounds; four nieces: Delilah Newcomb, Ella Newcomb, Magnolia Newcomb, and Desirae Pounds; and a host of aunts, uncles, other family, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his two grandfathers: Huey Newcomb, Sr., and Edsel “Pete” Penton; and his two uncles: Wayne Phillips and Lloyd Penton.

Pallbearers are as follows: Blake Newcomb, Cory Newcomb, Lance Amphion, Steven Penton, Michael Phillips, and Devin Phillips. There will be two honorary pallbearers: Blake Newcomb, Jr., and Denver Miller.

Brown-McGehee Funeral Home was entrusted with final arrangements. Friday, November 3, 2023, a visitation will start in the funeral home chapel at 5PM until 8PM. Visitation will resume on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at 9AM until time of service at 11AM. Services will be officiated by Bro. Doyle Ball. Interment will immediately follow at Penton-Phillips Cemetery in Angie, LA.
