Shirley Creel Hunt

February 12, 1947 - October 4, 2023

Shirley Creel Hunt, age 76 and a resident of Franklinton, passed away early Wednesday morning October 4, 2023 at her home. She worked for many years at Rutter Rex in Franklinton and for nearly 15 years at Sherman’s furniture store in the Clifton Community. Recently she provided sitting and care services to those in need. Shirley was a member of Sheridan Jesus Name Holiness Church. She enjoyed tending to her flowers and spending time on her front porch. Shirley liked visiting with her family and adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had a special place in her heart for her pet cat “Hans”.

Survived by: 2 Daughters and Sons in law: Tammie and Kenith Lee Douglas of Franklinton, Linda and John Talbot of Odessa, TX; 2 Sons: Steven Hunt, Dale Hunt both of Franklinton; Grandchildren: Steven and Bunnie Douglas, Amber and Barry Cooper, Claire Talbot , Austin Hunt, Spencer Hunt, Lea Hunt, Arianna Hunt, Steven Hunt, II, Josie Hunt, Alexis Hunt; 3 Great-grandchildren: Isabella Cooper, Aubrey Cooper, Nicholas Talbot; Sister: Willie Pearl Sheridan of Thomas; Brother and Sister in law: Earl and Carol Creel of Franklinton; Also numerous brothers in law, sisters in law, nieces and nephews

She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years T.C. Hunt, parents Willie D. Creel and Elizabeth Lewis Creel, brother Stanley “Bo” Creel, niece Winona Rowell, nephew William Rowell and other family members.

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Saturday October 7th from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 pm Saturday with Bro. Charles Ray Creel and Bro. R.R. Linder officiating. Burial will follow in the Beard Family Cemetery near her home.
