Randall Allen "Randy" Gault

October 28, 1957 - October 11, 2023

Randall Allen “Randy” Gault, age 65 and of Carriere, MS, passed away on October 11, 2023. He was born on October 28, 1957, in Bowling Green, Ohio, to Maurice and Anna Gault. As a child, he moved to Louisiana with his parents.  As a teenager, he lived in Metairie where he met his wife Sharon and married on November 29, 1975. After being a long time resident of Metairie and the surrounding areas, Randy, his wife and children moved to Carriere, MS.

Randy was a drafting and construction specialist by trade and a self taught landscape architect and artist. He loved creating, growing, and teaching about bonsai trees and painting landscape scenes with oil paints. His love of nature inspired him to create beautiful oil paintings of mountains, trees and many other landscapes. He was the owner of United World Bonsai. His customers knew him as the “Bonsai Guy”.  

Randy enjoyed vacationing and traveling with his family. He fulfilled his lifetime dream of traveling to Alaska and visiting the majority of national parks in the United States including his favorite; Yosemite, Sequoia, and Glacier. He also traveled with his family to Italy to witness the marriage of his daughter, Vanessa, at St Peter’s Basilica in the Vatican. He was adventurous all while battling through his illnesses. 

His will and strength will always be remembered. He battled for years and defied the odds in order to spend as much time as possible with his family. 

Randy was also an outstanding chef and baker.  He had a passion for cooking and baking. During the holidays he was the cook for his family. He baked the best homemade pies and cookies. Every Christmas he filled the living room with gifts for all his children and grandchildren.  

Randy was preceded in death by his mother, Anna Gault. He is survived by his father, Maurice Gault, wife, Sharon Gault, children Aeron Gault (Jennifer), James Gault, Vanessa Jarrell (Mark), Joshua Gault, Victoria Bales (Clayton), Amber Gault (Joe) and Paul Gault; grandchildren Cynthia, Celia, Charlotte, Holly, Jasmine, Lacey, Alexis, Trent, Mark, Giselle, Lilly, Avalyn, Croy, Easen, Preston and Bentley; brothers Tim Gault (Allison) and Allen Gault (Rebecca); sisters Tina Noel (Bryan) and Jeanna Rowell (Chris).

A graveside service will take place at Ponemah Cemetery in Bogalusa on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at 2 p.m. Following the service, a private reception for family members will be hosted by Vanessa Jarrell at her home.

All flowers may be delivered the day of to the Mausoleum in Ponemah Cemetery, 830 Louisiana Avenue, Bogalusa, LA 70427 and cards may be sent to the family C/O Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home and Crematory at 216 Alabama Ave., Bogalusa, Louisiana 70427.
