Robin Dale Passman

May 29, 1955 - October 25, 2023

Robin Dale Passman, age 68, passed away Wednesday evening October 25, 2023 at Singing River Hospital in Gulfport, Mississippi, from complications following a recent surgery. Robin was born in Bogalusa, Louisiana, and graduated from Bowling Green High School in Franklinton, where he held several Student Council positions and received recognition for his academic and athletic achievements. Afterwards, he received a Bachelor of Science in Zoology from Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond, where he served as Student Body Vice-President and President and as a Chaplin staff member for the Hammond State School for the Developmentally Disabled. He completed his education at Northeast Louisiana University in Monroe, where he received a Pharmacy degree. He worked as a pharmacist for over 40 years at retail stores and hospitals, including U.S. Naval hospitals in Beaufort, South Carolina and Okinawa, Japan. Robin was a member of First Baptist Church of Biloxi, Mississippi.

Robin is survived by his Children Melissa Denise Passman of New Orleans, and Stephen Dale Passman of Diamondhead, Mississippi; brother John Robert Passman II and sister-in-law Nancy Passman of Franklinton; nephew John Robert Passman III of Franklinton, great nephews Brody and Kyler Passman of Denham Springs and great niece Leighton Passman of Hammond; cousins Dianna Thomas of Thomas; Dr. Jason Aroe Thomas of McLean, Virginia; Justin Pitre Thomas of Franklinton; Jerry Lander Thomas of Franklinton; Joanna Day Thomas Gill of Palm Bay, Florida; Dr. Nancy Nelline Thomas Boyle of Covington; Kerry Owen Thomas, Jr. of Livingston; Joetta Thomas Blakey of Covington; Pat Thomas Cowart of Baton Rouge; Valerie Fraizer Lucky of Sterrett, Alabama; Donna Frazier Shimmel of Macon, Mississippi; Jim Fraizer of Hoover, Alabama; and Clark Blackwell of Tylertown, Mississippi.

Robin is preceded in death by his father John Robert Passman, mother Margie Ann Thomas Passman, infant brother Sherwin Passman and cousins Kerry, Jerry, Ritchie, Larry, and Marsha Thomas.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday October 31, 2023, at Ellis Cemetery in Franklinton with Reverend Joey Miller of First Baptist Church of Franklinton officiating.

The pallbearers are Stephen D. Passman, John R. Passman II, John R. Passman III, and Justin P. Thomas.

The family would like to thank Robin’s neighbors, especially Mark, Kelly, and Bryce Kettner, for their kindness to Robin during his health challenges.
