District Attorney Warren Montgomery announces that today (October 10, 2023), a Washington Parish grand jury indicted David Huey Rester, Jr., age 51 and of Bogalusa, for the 1st degree murder of Marl Wayne Smith. Smith was shot at the Pub Lounge in Bogalusa on March 2, 2022. Rester was a past law enforcement officer in the state of Mississippi.
