Tommy Louis Caves

December 10, 1946 - September 26, 2023

Tommy Caves was granted his angel wings on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at the age of 76.  He was born on December 10, 1946, in Sun, Louisiana.  He fought a good fight and passed away peacefully at home holding the hand of his beloved wife, Nell Caves.

Tommy was loud and stubborn at times, but he also had an enormous heart and wonderful sense of humor.  He enjoyed making friends wherever he went and never met a stranger.  His favorite pastime was spending hours rocking in his favorite chair on the porch, “Watching the idiots go by”.  If he had to be inside, you could bet he was in his recliner watching a western that likely starred John Wayne.

Loved ones that cleared the path for Tommy are his parents, William Oliver “Bill” and Agnes Ella Corkern Caves; siblings, Billie Ann Caves Sumrall, John Earl Caves, Betty Jean Caves Brewer, and Roger Dale “Roy” Caves.

Loved ones that will miss Tommy until they meet again are his wife, Nell Caves; siblings, Golda Lea Caves Sumrall, Floyd Lee Caves, and Donald Ray Caves; his children, Rebecca “Becky” Ann Holmes, Melinda “Lynn” Caves, Kenneth “Kenny” Evans, Billie Vicknair and spouse Kenny, Rodney Evans, Jonathan “David” Caves and spouse Amaryllis, Dustin “Dusty” Caves and spouse Shelley, Aimee Maxwell and spouse Doug, Larry Thames and spouse Kirsten, Crystal Thames, Tommy Caves, Jr. and spouse Lorraine, Chris Thames, Stephanie Thames; as well as 25 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Family and friends are welcome to attend a graveside service which will be held at Corkern Cemetery, 19215 J Corkern Road, Franklinton, LA 70438, on Saturday, October 7, 2023, at 1:00 P.M.
