Two Arrested Near Slidell for Possession of MS Stolen Vehicle

Detectives with the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Proactive Enforcement Unit were patrolling the area of the Fremaux Town Center near Slidell at approximately 8 p.m. Friday (August 25, 2023) night when they observed a 2012 Toyota Camry which had been reported stolen out of Hancock County, Miss., enter into the Retreat at Town Center Apartment Complex. After following the vehicle into the apartment complex, detectives conducted a traffic stop.

The driver, identified as 25 year-old Kerry Isidore, was taken into custody without incident. 

The passenger , identified as 25 year-old Louis Barnes, fled from the scene on foot, jumped into a nearby canal and ultimately entered into a nearby wooded area. A perimeter was set in place with the assistance of the Slidell Police Department and Barnes was apprehended a short time later by responding STPSO criminal patrol deputies. Barnes was in possession of a 9mm handgun and 304 grams of marijuana. It was also learned Barnes had an active arrest warrant issued by the New Orleans Police Department for Violation of a Protective Order.

Isidore was charged with Possession of Stolen Things over $5,000.00 and Possession of Marijuana.

Barnes was charged with Fugitive, Possession with the Intent to Distribute Marijuana, Possession of a Firearm in the presence of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, Resisting an Officer, Obstruction of Justice, and Possession of Stolen Things over $5,000.00.
