On Monday, August 14, 2023, The Bogalusa Police Department arrested two individuals in connection with a drive-by shooting that occurred on Thursday, August 10, 2023 near West 5th Street.
BPD reports that the investigation revealed 19 year-old Mason Turner was the driver of the vehicle and a 16 year-old juvenile was the shooter. Both were located and arrested.
Turner was charged with Principal to Attempted First Degree Murder, Principal to Assault By Drive By Shooting, and Contributing to the Delinquency of a Juvenile.
The juvenile was charged with Attempted First Degree Murder, Assault by Drive By Shooting, and Illegal Possession of Handgun by a Juvenile.
No update has been provided with regards to victims. However, On August 10, 2023, BPD reported they were investigating a report of shots fired but “but there are no victims or suspects at this time.”
