“I’m Gloria W. Kates (#48 on the ballot), a candidate for Louisiana Senate District #12, As long as God gives me strength and guidance, I will make every attempt to assist the great citizens of District 12 which includes St. Tammany Parish, Tangipahoa Parish, and Washington Parish.

Throughout my two-and and a half term tenure as a Bogalusa City Council Member I’ve authored numerous Legislative ordinances, resolutions, proclamations, and certificates. Positions have include President of the Bogalusa City Council; Chairman of the Finance committee, Bid Committee, Landfill, also Safety and Economic Development, Capital Outlay Committees within the tenure.
I’ve served (2017-2018) President of the Washington Parish Coalition on Human Services and 2019 Second vice president; 2015 to 2023: Member of Council on Aging Board of Directors. My lifelong career experience assisted me in my Legislative seat as follows: I am a Federal Civil Servant Retiree and have extensive federal sector experience working as an as a Travel Manager; Equal Rights Officer; Civil Rights Officer; EEO Assistant, Special Emphasis/Diversity Coordinator, Human Resources Specialist, Supervisor of Customer Service, Finance, USPS Diversity and Affirmative Action Committee chairperson, US Veterans (Affairs Prog. Spec); US Army, Defense Intelligence Agency, Wash., DC (Admin Spec.) and Special Campaign Task force of our 42nd President; in the private and local sector, Service Zone, Inc. ( Employment Manager and IT Technical Support Technician.) Numerous membership in organizations and received various awards such as just to mention the U.S. Army Commendation Medal; U.S. Army Meritorious Service Award, U.S.P.S. - Honoring Those Who Serve Recipient: EEOC Leadership Award from the Federal Executive Board (NO Region); and a Federal Service A ward from Admin.
