On August 15, 2023, a Washington Parish Grand Jury indicted Susanne Jenkins, age 60 and of Franklinton, for the second-degree murder of Stanley E. Padget. The homicide took place in April of 2023. Assistant District Attorney, Harold Bartholomew presented the case to the Grand Jury.

On August 17, 2023, a St. Tammany Parish Grand Jury indicted Jose Alberto Moreno, age 40 and of Slidell, for one count of 1st degree rape and one count sexual battery, each involving a victim under the age of 13, and one count of domestic abuse battery involving strangulation on another household member. All of these acts occurred in the winter of 2021 in Slidell. Detective Adam Driskell of the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office investigated the case. Assistant District Attorneys Ysonde Boland and Amanda Ahner Gritten presented the case to the Grand Jury.
