The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office is asking the public's assistance in identifying a shoplifting suspect from the Village of Tangipahoa.
Chief Jimmy Travis says on July 8, 2023, a male suspect entered the Dollar General store on Highway 440 in the Village of Tangipahoa and stole merchandise. According to video surveillance, the male walked to the grocery aisle, grabbed a large garbage can, and began filling it with a large amount of cleaning and laundry supplies. The suspect then walked out the front door, passing all points of sale and got into an early 2000s model black Lincoln sedan with no license plate.
The suspect is described as a black male, seen wearing a black short sleeved shirt with a fleur-de-lis imprint, black shorts, black shoes, a white baseball cap, and appears to be wearing sunglasses.
Chief Travis asks anyone with information regarding the identity of the male to call Detective Earl McFarland at 985-902-2043, OR Crime Stoppers if you wish to remain anonymous.
