Disturbance 1. Tropical Storm Don is still hanging around out there and no threat to us. Don is moving toward the west-northwest near 9 mph and this motion is expected to continue over the next day or so. A turn to the northwest and then north is forecast over the weekend. Weakening is forecast to begin later this weekend.
Disturbance 2. Central Tropical Atlantic (95L): A small area of low pressure is located several hundred miles west-southwest of the Cabo Verde Islands in the central tropical Atlantic. A topical depression could form in the next several days, as it moves westward across the tropical Atlantic. Formation chance through 48 hours...low...20 percent and formation chance through 7 days...medium...40 percent.
