The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office Chief Jimmy Travis has reported the arrest of 33 year-old Jarred Wells of Hammond. Wells was arrested as the suspect in two separate incidents of theft, during each of which the suspect stole four cartons of cigarettes.
Chief Jimmy Travis says on July 7, 2023, a black male entered the Cash and Dash in Ponchatoula and stole four cartons of cigarettes. The suspect then left the store in a white Mitsubishi Eclipse. The following day, the same suspect was seen on surveillance footage at the Dollar General on Highway 190 east in Hammond, also stealing four cartons of cigarettes and then left driving the same white Mitsubishi Eclipse.
