The Slidell Police Department reports that on Monday (July 3, 2023) morning, SPD responded to a single vehicle accident at the intersection of Gause Boulevard E. and Pearl Street. When officers arrived, the driver of the vehicle (a 73-year-old male) was unconscious and not breathing. Lifesaving measures were performed, but the male unfortunately passed away.
The preliminary investigation indicates that the driver of the vehicle suffered a medical emergency (presumably a heart attack), prior to the crash. The man’s truck was traveling westbound on Gause Boulevard E., and came to rest after striking a utility pole. The man sustained very minor injuries during the crash. Investigators believe the man passed away due to natural causes…not as a result of the crash.
