The Bogalusa Police Department has reported that a 17 year-old suspect has been arrested for the shooting of 20 year-old Jakarvis Curney, who was shot in the lower leg. The shooting occurred Monday (July 3, 2023) just before midnight near Travis' Supermarket.
The shooter was quickly identified and subsequently arrested for the following offenses: Illegal Possession of a Handgun by a Juvenile, Illegal Use of Weapons/Dangerous Instruments, Attempted Second Degree Murder, and Obstruction of Justice.
The juvenile was transported to the Florida Parish Juvenile Detention Facility.
This matter is still under investigation and additional details will be released at a later time.
