Abel Kinchen Smith

October 5, 1951 - July 8, 2023

Abel Kinchen Smith, age 71 and a resident of the Warnerton Community, passed away peacefully at his home Saturday evening July 8, 2023 surrounded by his beloved family. He worked for many years and retired from the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development. Abel enjoyed hunting, fishing and family gatherings. He loved his family deeply and was truly loved by them. He will be greatly missed.

Survived by: Wife: Karen Rawls Smith; 2 Daughters: Savanna Smith, Jennifer Smith; Step-daughter and Son in law: Christi and George Galloway; Grandchildren and Great-grandchildren: Khloe Smith, James Gutierrez, Lance Smith, Cari Ann Smith and her children Bryclyn and Dalton, Joshua Smith and his son Malikye, Patrick Smith, Katelyn Rowell, Kindelyn Rowell, Kailloulyn Rowell, Jordan and Dynasty Wood and their children Julius and Juliet, Ty and Noelani Galloway and their son Malachi, Laken Galloway; Mother in law: Ruby Rawls Graves; Brother in law and Sisters in law: Wayne and Jennie Rawls, Billy and Aundrea Rawls; Also many nieces and nephews

He was preceded in death by his son David Ray Smith, father Abel K. Smith, mother Beatrice Wissel, brother Sam Smith, sister Sally Smith, father in law Bill Rawls, brother in law Gregory Rawls, sister in law Shelia Rawls.

A memorial service for his family will be planned in the near future.
