Charles Handy

September 3, 1956 - July 1, 2023

Mr. Charles Handy was born on September 3, 1956 to the late James and Inether Handy in Franklinton, LA. He departed his earthly life on Saturday, July 1, 2023 at North Oaks Medical Center in Hammond, LA.

Mr. Handy was a member of Water Valley Church of God In Christ under the leadership of Bishop Howard E. Quillen, Jr.

He leaves so cherish his memories his wife, Sandra Bell-Handy of Franklinton, LA; three daughters, Shantell (Dorion) Donald-Jefferson of New Orleans, LA, Monique (Jeremy) Bell-Catchings of Franklinton, LA, and Breanka Youngblood of Hattiesburg, Ms; four sons, Charles Donald of New Orleans, LA, Chris (Shanika)Bell, Rachell (Jolynn) Bell, Brandon Bell, and Rico Bell all of Franklinton, LA.; Four sisters, Verlean (John R) Bickham and Shirley (Rodney) Ratliff of Franklinton, LA, Mary Handy of Bogalusa, LA, and Doris Handy of New Orleans, LA; two brothers, James (Michelle) Handy of Franklinton, LA and J.V (Joanne) Handy of New Orleans, LA; brothers-in-law, J L Dykes of Franklinton, LA, Bishop Earl (Annie) Bell and Darnell (Lasabre) Bell of Atlanta, GA and Perry (Jan) Bell of Baton Rouge, LA; sisters-in-law, Jessie Handy of Franklinton, LA, Olevia (Robert) Wesby, Donnis (Russell) Warren and Rena John) Dunn all of Hammond, LA; twenty three grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Inether Handy; three sisters, Azzie Dykes, Rose L. Handy and Marilyn Handy; two brothers, Elijah Handy and Deacon Glenn Handy.

A Funeral Service will be at 11:00 AM on July 8, 2023 at Friendship Church of God in Christ, 47351 Blackjack Rd., Franklinton, Louisiana 70438.
